With over 30 years of professional experience in the music industry, Don Weiss is a Juno Award-winning record producer and engineer, earning numerous platinum and gold records for his work artists such as The Beach Boys, Rush, Paul Shaffer, Robert Palmer, and Anne Murray.

Don began recording professionally in 1980 at the age of twenty. By the time he was twenty-four, he had already worked his way up to the position of Chief Engineer at a major Toronto recording studio. In 1988, the Beach Boys brought Don to California where he continued to work on their recording projects.

Don began recording professionally in 1980 at the age of twenty. By the time he was twenty-four, he had already worked his way up to the position of Chief Engineer at a major Toronto recording studio. In 1988, the Beach Boys brought Don to California where he continued to work on their recording projects. Over the next eleven years, Don continued to produce and engineer music for major artists, mix sound (FOH -front of house) for live concerts and record for many popular TV shows such as “Dangerous Minds”, “The Power Rangers” and “Soldier of Fortune Inc.” among others.

Don is the Owner and Director of the Austin Recording Center and works directly with all students to give them the tools they need to take control of their music and become successful artists, producers, and engineers.
