The Studios

Orb Recording Studios is dedicated to enhancing every client’s creativity by providing a positive, inspiring and stress-free professional environment.

A 5,600-square-foot facility built from the ground up on an acre of Texas hill country, Orb is the vision of co-owners C.B. Hudson and Matt Noveskey, who sought to merge the quality of renowned East and West-coast studios with the pretense-free vibe of Austin. The facility’s two large, hardwood floating-floor recording studios share state-of-the-art acoustic design by Mark Genfan of Acoustic Spaces, wiring and audio electronics installed by Brad Engleking, top-notch gear and convertible spaces capable of accommodating any number of players from a solo artist to an orchestra. Orb is just 25 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and 5 miles from overnight accommodations.

Studio A, also known as the Genfan room in honor of the late, great, Mark Genfan. Our studio designer and dear friend.

STUDIO DETAILS

A 1,200+ square foot facility that includes a 672 sq. ft. live room with 20 foot ceilings and floating hardwood floors and a 336 sq. ft. piano room equipped with a 1938 Steinway Baby Grand Piano, A Baldwin Model L, and a 1957 Hammond B3 Organ. The control room boasts a 48 channel SSL console, Pro Tools 2021 HD, and a rare set of Ocean Way Audio HR2 monitors.

Studio A also contains a vast selection of Mic Pre’s, Outboard Gear, and Microphones.

A 400+ square foot facility that includes a 192 sq. ft. tracking room perfect for overdubbing instruments and tracking vocals. The control room is equipped with a 48 channel SSL 6000 G Series console, Pro Tools HDX and 24 channels of Avid I/O.

Studio B also contains a selection of Mic Pre’s, Outboard Gear, and Microphones.

STUDIO C

STUDIO DETAILS

A Collaboration between Orb and Staff Engineer Oliver Ocean, Studio C is tailored for Vocals, Guitars, Pre and Post Production. The room is outfitted with an Iso booth, guitar booth, and a variety of outboard gear. Producers and Engineers are able to bring their own computers to patch in and access all features Studio C has to offer.
